cat

Stanley Kowalski
painting size 16" x 12"

When I was in college, I house sat for several months at a house called Pegasus in the Oakland/Berkeley hills. The owner had a cat named Vinegar, who lived outside and loved to rub up against the window when she saw us, but avoided any actual human contact. Of course we had to feed her outside. And that attracted not only a family of racoons, but also a scrawny cat with an enormous head. We ended up taking in the stray, but we couldn't keep him because he immediately beat up one of my housecats. We named him Stanley Kowalski, because he seemed like a big bruiser! My friend's mother adopted Stanley. With regular meals and pampering, Stanley's body grew into his enormous head, and he became one of the sweetest pets you could ever ask for.
