Machiko Kyo

Machiko Kyo (b. 1924) began her show business career as a dancer. Her early films for Daiei Studios spotlighted her dancing ability.

Ms. Kyo has demonstrated her acting ability playing a wide range of roles, from the traditional Japanese wife to the prostitute. She is known to American audiences for her role in The Teahouse of the August Moon, starring Marlon Brando.
