Isuzu Yamada (b. 1917) appeared in some films by director Kenji Mizoguchi in the 1930's. She later gave strong performances in films by director Akira Kurosawa. Ms. Yamada married the director Kinugasa Teinosuke (Gate of Hell, 1953). Her daughter is the film actress Michiko Saga.
